Utah. Week 3.

This week was an eventful week as well.  Here is a quick run-down of our week.

I spent an evening with these lovely ladies.  Ate food, watched the Bachelorette, and talked late into the night.
I'm sad I didn't get to spend more time with them.

Only... I didn't get a picture.  So this one will have to do.  This was taken last April.

Had a wedding shower for our newest cousin Tausha. (Seated to the left of me)
One of my sisters friends took some pictures of Trey so we could give them to my mom and Jeff's mom for their birthdays.  For my mom, we got some pictures of the three grandkids together... and let me just tell you, it was NOT easy to get them all to look at the camera at the same time... and pretty much impossible to get them all to smile.  Oh well.  We tried.

Trey wasn't much in the mood for smiling and Brynli would not look at the camera despite all our efforts.  I even tried dancing around like a crazy person to get them to smile... that is until I got stung in the eye by a bee.  And that put an end to the picture taking real quick.

Jeff and two of his buddies decided they wanted to get up real early and hike to the top of this mountain.

No Thank You.

The view from the top.  Aww... Cache Valley.

We went back up to Bear Lake and stayed in Jeff's condo with some of his friends.  It brought back some good memories.  Too bad we can't do that more often.
Trey seemed to really enjoy the hot-tub.
We got back just in time to watch the fireworks.

And we got up early the next morning to go to a 4th of July Breakfast.  Known as the "Best Pancake Breakfast in Town."  It's become tradition for the Wegeners.  And I must say, they don't disappoint.

And we may or may not have eaten at El Sol a few times.

I took Trey to his very first movie and he sat through it like a champ.  In fact, he did so good I took him to another.  He loved Eclipse almost as much as I did.  He even had reclined seating.  :)
Kidding...

The Three Stooges.  It looks like Trey is trying awfully hard to get out of the picture.  Little stink is learning early!
I walked in the room and my cute nephew was reading his dinosaur book to Trey.  Carson is a Dinosaur expert.  You ask him anything you want to know about Dinosaurs and he will tell you.  I kid you not.  He knows the names of so many that I can't even pronounce!  He LOVES Dinosaurs.

Cute Bryn giving Trey kisses.  He got LOTS of those while we were home.

And to conclude the week we got Western Family Photos.  I'm tellin ya, there was lots of pictures taken this trip! Here are a few.

3 down... 1 more to go!  I can do it!

5 Months!

My little boy is 5 months old today.  I can't believe it!  Time really has flown by.  It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital.  It's crazy how quick they grow up.  He's getting so big so fast and I can't seem to do anything to stop him!

I missed Trey's 4 month post and wanted to record his stats.
Height: 27 inches (98%)
Weight:  20 lbs. 4 oz. Not kidding. (off the charts)
Head:  Can't remember, other than it is also off the charts.
One things for sure... My baby is consistent!
Trey To Date:
(This will probably bore most of you, so just scroll on down and look at the pics)

So far Trey is showing no signs of rolling over.  He seems a little too content just laying there on his back.  Maybe leaving him on his stomach for long enough will do the trick.  Either way, I'm not complaining, it's kinda nice being able to put him down without worrying about where he might roll off to.

He is well on his way to sitting up.  Every time I prop him up against something, he tries pulling himself forward.  He can pretty much sit up, but he's mostly just supporting his weight on his little belly, and he's still not got the balance thing figured out yet.  But he's close.

Trey will grab anything he can get his hands on.  And then it goes straight to his mouth.  He LOVES to eat his blanket... especially when I am putting him to sleep.  He will either have his fingers or his blanket in his mouth.

Trey always has his tongue sticking out of his mouth.  Especially when he smiles.  It's pretty funny.

He for some reason likes to put things over his face.  It's like a game to him.  When you pull it off, he puts it right back on.  Like his blankets or burp cloths.  The funny thing is he puts it over his head and then puts his arms straight up in the air and panics... like, oh no! now what!... and he breaths super fast.  It is hilarious.

Trey loves to be outside... unless he is in the sun.  Then he doesn't love it.  But if he's ever crying I can quickly get him to stop by taking him outside.  Maybe he's got mommy fooled.

When Jeff comes home, Trey is all smiles.  He gets so excited to see him and can't wait for Jeff to pay attention to him.

Our little monkey loves to watch the TV.  If I didn't know any better, I'd think he understood what was going on half the time.  He looks so enthralled.

The little stinker will NOT take a bottle.  I guess he's got it figured out that if he doesn't take one, then he gets to go with mommy wherever she goes.

Trey LOVES going on walks... mainly because he loves to look at everything around him.

I usually will rock Trey to sleep... for naps and bedtime.  I just have to sing him a few songs (he loves to be sung to) and wa-la.  He's asleep!  ...unless he is extra tired and then it takes a little more work.  Someday I am sure I will have to break him of this habit, but for now, I enjoy that time with him.

We've started Trey on Oatmeal and he seems to really like it.  I haven't started him on fruits and vegetables yet because well... he's big.  And I'm scared of him getting much bigger!

Trey used to sleep like a champ.  Now you never know when and how often he will wake up.  Some nights he will sleep a 7-8 hours stretch and others he will be up every 4 hours.  Don't know why every night is different.  I'm not going to complain though, because for the most part he does pretty good.  And he will usually sleep in until 9 or 10.  A boy right after his mom's heart. :)

He loves his baths but tries really hard to drink the water.  It's become quite the task trying to keep him distracted.

Trey is a good eater... obviously.... but is starting to become more and more distracted.  He is constantly wanting to know what is going on everywhere else and wanting to know who is talking.  I swear he thinks everyone is talking to him.

Trey is such a fun baby and is always full of smiles and laughs.  It doesn't take much to get him to smile.  And if you're Jeff, you can get him to laugh at the drop of hat.  Seriously.

And if you're my mom... you can also get a pretty good reaction out of him.  Love this video.

Trey is 3 months in this video.  It's my favorite, so I just had to share.  Sometimes we can get Trey laughing so hard he can barely catch his breath.  It's hilarious.  Jeff and I get such a kick out of it.  Unfortunately some of the most recent ones are on my phone and I don't have an adapter for the computer.  Darn.

We've taken Trey swimming a few times since we've been home from Utah and we've made some progress.  The first time... he didn't love it.

The second time... still not a fan.

And the third time, he liked it!  Yay!

This stage is so much fun!  The boy manages to put a smile on my face every day!  Love him to pieces!

Some Things Never Change....

(Just in case you are like my mom and can't tell the difference in age between the two pics... Trey is a newborn in the first pic and 5 months in the second pic)  Geeze, he must have looked huge as a newborn!)

Utah. Week 2.

This week was a busy week for us.  My family AND Jeff's family conveniently planned family reunions/vacations in Bear Lake the very same week which ended up working out quite nicely.  My family spent the first half of the week up there and Jeff's family came up the second half of the week.  So we were able to go to both.  We had such a great time.  Good thing we love Bear Lake.

This is the cabin we stayed in with my family.  It was SO NICE and SO BIG!  Not what I was expecting for a typical cabin, looks and felt more like a summer home to me.

 Pretty view of the lake.

Mi Familia
(minus Carson who was exhausted and had fallen asleep on the floor)
The Sisters

Carson would beg to hold Trey and then push him off within seconds.  He decided he liked it better having him sit right next to him.  I guess Trey was too heavy. :)

And this here... is our little swim monkey.  Although he's not really much of a swim monkey.  He liked this floaty for a little while and then decided he hated to be splashed by other swimmers... so that quickly put an end to that.  But he still makes for one cute little swimmer.

Floatin with Aunt Ash... he looks pretty comfy if you ask me.

These two little monkeys definitely loved the pool.

And the beach....

We spent much of our time playing games, eating lots of yummy food, playing at the beach and the pool, and just relaxing.  It was such a fun vacation.  Thanks mom and dad.
And we ended our stay with some good ol' Bear Lake Pizza.  So yummy... as you can see. :)

Wegener Family Reunion:

Jeff's parents own a condo up in Bear Lake, so his family spends much of their summer taking turns staying in the condo.  It's not been till recently that they've started having family reunions up there.  So far it has worked out great and everyone seems to have a blast.  This year we filled up three entire condos.  It worked out that Tony and Kathie traded weeks with some neighboring condos, so we could all comfortably fit and have a place to sleep.  That is a task in and of itself.
Something unique about Jeff and his family is that neither of his parents have any siblings... which means, Jeff and his siblings don't have any cousins.  That was just crazy to me when I first found that out, but I've since decided that they don't need any cousins!  They've got a big enough family to make up for it!!

See for yourself....

This was just a fun one we did down on the beach... the sun was obviously a bit of a detriment to the picture but I still think it turned out cute.

This was the first year EVERYONE was able to come to the reunion.  It was great having everyone there together.  Kathie hired someone to come up and take family pictures.  I think they turned out great.

Aww... Cousins!  The next generation...

Jeff's family.  All 9 of them.

Besides lots of picture taking....  We spent most of our time playing outside.  Jeff especially had a good time, he couldn't hide his excitement!

I suppose the girls couldn't either...

Our days were filled with LOTS of games... you name it, we probably played it.  One of our favorites ended up being the game Werewolf, which if you've played it is much like the game mafia.  So fun with a big group!
We spent lots of time at the beach and pool...

Have you ever seen a life sized Jenga? Me neither!

We ate LOTS of delicious food!

... and had THE much anticipated water balloon launching...
If you look closely, you'll see Jeff's brother Dan getting nailed with a waterballoon.  Those things got some distance!  At one point Jeff's neice got hit with two balloons at once.  Made for some pretty good bruises.
... and yes, everyone walked away with a welt... or two... or three...  except those of us who chose to sit back and watch, and of course take pictures...

Trey's floaty ended up being quite useful.  In fact, he may have enjoyed it a little more lounging on the grass than he did in the pool.  Little stinker.

He also spent time with his cousins.  Carlos (2 months), Lydia (6 months), Trey (3 months)

And he particularly enjoyed his "Uncle Rich"... somehow he could always make him smile.

But he mostly loved hangin out with his mommy.  That's what he told me anyway.
He looks like a little ranger. :)

Ever wonder what Trey would look like as a girl???  Well here you have it....

Whew! Well that concludes week 2.  That was way too many pictures I know... but when you have over 200 to choose from, it gets hard!  We sure had a good time and are looking forward to many more fun times in Bear Lake....

Utah. Week 1.

Because I am feeling overwhelmed at the amount of pictures I want to post from our trip home, I decided that I would just take it a week at a time.  So we will start with week 1.

Trey did great on the flight home, minus the fact that my arm was about ready to fall off by the end.  That kid is heavy!!  Not to mention the long layover we ended up having, arriving in Utah at 3am instead of our expected arrival of 9:30pm.  But we made it one piece with minimal complaints from my little buddy.  Thank goodness.  What really topped it off though, was getting home to two full suitcases completely soaked.. clothes and all... from being left out in the rain by some idiot airport people in Chicago.  Gotta love flying!

Our first week home was pretty low key.  Trey and I mainly just hung with the fam and relaxed.  Oh and ate at Firehouse. :)  Jeff wasn't planning to fly home until that weekend because he had finals all that week.  Here are some pics from our week.

Apparently my neice loves Firehouse just as much I do.  She takes after her favorite Aunt.  :)

We got to watch my nephew Carson play on his T-Ball Team.  Kids that age are so funny to watch.

We celebrated my Grandma Western's 92nd Birthday.  I'm so glad we were able to be there for it.

These two little guys were Best Buds the whole time we were home.  It was so cute.
I was worried Trey was going to have a hard time adjusting to a new place and so many new faces, but for the most part, he did great.  He was a little trooper....
Meanwhile, Jeff was home studying for his tests when low and behold he gets a kidney stone.  Poor guy had to suffer by himself.  We were glad that it just ended up being a kidney stone so he was still able to come to Utah as planned.  (I say "just" with all the sympathy I can muster because I'm sure if you were to ask Jeff, he wouldn't have said JUST a kidney stone.)  For his sake, we sure hope he doesn't have to experience another one in the near future... or ever.

Jeff arrived in Utah just in time to celebrate his first Father's Day.  We celebrated by having dinner over at his sister Angie's house.  It was so fun seeing everyone again and Trey loved meeting all of his cousins and Aunts and Uncles.  It had been WAY TOO LONG since I'd been home and these two little cousins had missed each other.

Trey enjoyed laying in Lydia's bouncer chair... We won't mention the part where he bottomed out when we put him in it.  Ha, we love our little chunker.

Jeff sure did miss his little buddy... quite possibly more than me. I guess that's the way it goes now.
I'm doubting Jeff can think of anything more rewarding than being a daddy to this little guy.  Happy Father's Day Jeff.  Trey and I wouldn't know what to do without you.  We love you!

WEEK 2 COMING SOON....
