Aloha from Hawaii!!

So my plan was to bring the cord that hooks your camera up to the computer so I could download picures that we take and post them on our blog, giving everyone a daily update. But... I forgot. So I haven't had the motivation to get on and post anything. It's more exciting to see pictures of what we are doing than to hear what we are doing. I guess that part will have to wait until we get home. I'm going to have a tough time deciding what pictures to put up. We've already taken over 200 and we still have 3 days to go!! According to Jeff's parents, I am turning into Angie (their daughter). But if you ask any of my friends, they've always thought I take way too many pictures! I'm okay with that...pictures make the best memories. Right Ang? :)

Well.... 12 days and I'm still having a blast!! This has to be one of the best vacations I've been on! I LOVE Hawaii! The past four days has been pretty hazy and cloudy (I'm not complaining, it's still been great) but it hasn't exactly been the best weather for laying out, so this morning when I woke up and saw it was sunny and not as cloudy, I hurried and put on my suit and headed for the beach. I must have been trying to make up for the days I had missed and spent a little too long in the sun. I am fried!! This is the first time I haven't put on sunscreen, and I payed for it. I guess I figured I had enough of a base tan that I wouldn't get burned. Ha... smart I know. I kept making fun of Jeff because we would get all ready to go outside and lay out and about a half-hour into it, he'd say, I think I'm getting burned, I'm gonna go in in a minute. (he never wanted to put on sunscreen!) I would get so mad because I can stay out there for hours, but it's not as fun by yourself! So in we'd go. I guess today I learned my lesson. Always wear sunscreen!!

Yesterday Jeff and I went up to the North shore and went snorkeling at Shark's Cove. We saw so many fish and we even swam with a huge sea turtle! I wish I would of had an underwater camera because it was so funny to see Jeff and this giant turtle swimming almost hand and hand, I guess it would be hand and fin. The turtle didn't seem one bit bothered, it was great! We also went to Turtle Beach where we saw a bunch more turtles. We took some pictures and got a couple of videos. It wasn't as good as seeing Jeff swimming next to the turtle, but it will do. We stopped for lunch at a really good burger place called Kua 'Aina and then topped it off with some shaved ice at Matsumotos. According to everyone else... You haven't had shaved ice until you've tried Matsumotos. So we tried one, they were excellent. Then we headed over to Waimea Bay and layed out in the clouds, we still had fun. I was sitting on the beach talking on the phone to my friend Laci and before I knew it, Jeff had buried me in the sand, it was so funny. I'll have to post pictures of that later. Apparently Waimea Bay is the place where they have "HUGE" waves. Yesterday was pretty flat but I think we are going to go back up there on Friday because the waves are supposed to be pretty big. We'll see. Then last night we went to "Fia Fia" meaning, Happy. That's the name of one of the luau's they have here. It was just outside our condo out on the grass. I've never been to a luau before and I had a blast! They fed us dinner and put on show. We saw many different kinds of dances from all over such as Fiji, Tonga, and Samoa... so much fun. Then they danced with sticks that had fire on each end. I've never seen anything so crazy!! The fire is pretty much touching them as they dance. And they put out the fire with there feet! WOW!! I was impressed!

Tomorrow Jeff and I are going to the Polynesian Culture Center. I'm way excited. I really enjoyed the luau last night so I am sure I will have a blast! I'll give an update of that later.

Well I just wanted to give a short update of what we've been up to. Hopefully everyone isn't too jealous! :) After all... we'd rather be at home enjoying the cold weather with the rest of you!! Love you all!!

Weekend in Bear Lake!

This weekend Jeff and I went to his condo in Bear Lake with a bunch of our friends. It was a lot of fun to all get together again. I was sad to see it come to an end. We spent a lot of our time eating, watching movies and playing games. We played a lot of golf (the card game), catch phrase, Quiddler, and spades. Unfortunately for Jeff, he did not dominate every game, in fact he didn't win once in Golf!! It's pretty sad when I have to cheer against my husband! We also had fun playing the Wii, guitar hero, and Dance Dance Revolution. Even Benji gave DDR a shot!! But we were still unable to convince "P". I think he may have a hidden talent that he's embarrassed we might make fun of him for. We all know he's a true dancer at heart! :)

The lake was frozen over and it was still too cold to swim but we definitely enjoyed ourselves in the hot tub. You will be able to tell by the pictures.. Jeff and I both got fried! We didn't think to wear sunscreen... heck there was still snow on the ground! Well to rap up the weekend... I think I speak for everyone when I say we all had a blast! I wish we could do stuff like this more often, but it's so hard when we all have such different schedules! Thank heavens we were able to get together one last time before everyone goes there seperate ways! Next time we go to Bear Lake we'll all have kids running around! Crazy thought! (And no I am NOT pregnant) :)
I can't figure out how to get the video right side up... Jeff and I messed with it for a while... but to no avail. Oh well, just turn your head sideways!

He told me the other day he didn't want to play games with me because he gets sick of winning!!! How rude is that?!?! I wanted to say, "And you think I enjoy losing???"

I HATE April Fools!!

So today I realized that I officially dislike April Fools Day. If I could think of some funny jokes to play on people it might make for a better day, but since I'm usually the one to get the pranks pulled on, it's not all that fun.

First off... I texted Jeff this morning to see how he was feeling because he's been really sick with a bad cold. This is the reply I got... and I quote, "Not too good. I just found out I got laid off so I am down at medical getting my outgoing physical. I should be home by noon. I have to catch a bus home so I will call you when I leave here. I didn't think this would happen since they pretty much told me it wouldn't. I am pretty pissed."

Okay now first off, he just told me on Sunday that his work was having layoffs this week because apparently they are running out of work. But he NEVER ONCE said anything about him possibly getting laid off, so that never even crossed my mind. So when I got that text this morning, it never occured to me that it was April Fools. You can imagine what was going through my head... This was my reply. "What?? Are you kidding me? So now what??" So there I am at work, completely unable to focus, with these questions running through my head.... So does this mean we will be moving back home to Logan? What are we going to do about money? Does this mean I get to quit my job? :) What is Jeff going to do for the next 5 months before dental school? What am I going to do for work if we do move back home? So there I sat, stewing over all these thoughts, while Jeff is at work laughing his head off at his great attempt to fool me. A half hour later, just when I was about to text him again, he replied with, "April Fools!" Ewwww!!!! I was so mad! I had all these mixed emotions of being half excited (of the small chance that we could move home for a while, and that I could quit my job) and half worried (about money, especially right before dental school, and what this will mean for us). I think you all get the picture. People at work were telling him that it was a mean joke... and he was telling them that I would probably be more mad once I found out it wasn't true. Haha! Needless to say, he is still very much employed.

To continue on with his April Fools antics, he asks me if I would go get him a glass of water. So being the nice wife that I am, I go downstairs to get him some water. He must have been listening from the top of the stairs, because he heard me open the fridge. He then says, "hey I don't want it out of the fridge, the tap water is fine." And I replied with, "you don't want a bottled water??" And he said, "no I just want it out of the faucet please." And I said, "WHY??" He responds with, "well my throat is sore and the cold water irritates it." I'm gullable, I know. So to the faucet I go. I turned it on and a fountain of water hit me right in the chest. Now I'm not kidding when I say fountain. It literally soaked me from my shirt to my pants to all over the floor!! It took me a full second to realize why the water was shooting out instead of down! Well there you have it... Jeff put a rubber band around the water sprayer thing. I know, oldest trick in the book, but I fell for it! So if anyone is ever up for a good laugh on April fools, apparently I'm the one to prank, I'll fall for it every time!

Family Get-Together!!

This past weekend my family had a big get together because it so happened that everyone was going to be in town all at the same time! It was the first time I have seen some of my cousins in 5 years! It was so good to see everyone again. There was over 60 people at our Sunday dinner. Jeff was probably a little overwhelmed seeing as though he doesn't have any cousins. (His mom and dad are both only children). That's so crazy to me! He does, however, definitely outnumber me in our immediate families. Here are some pics from Sunday dinner! I wish I would have gotten more of everyone that was there but the camera guy got mad at us for taking pics under "his lighting!" He was afraid we wouldn't purchase any of his pics if we kept taking our own pictures. Lame!!
